Here are five unique opportunities to study with TTouch founder and world-renowned equestrian trainer and behaviorist Linda Tellington-Jones!

Bitterroot Ranch in Dubois, Wyoming

Starting a Young Horse"Starting Young Horses" at the Bitterroot Ranch in Dubois, Wyoming, June 21-26 marks the 21st time this program has been presented by Linda and TTouch Instructors at this spectacular Wyoming setting. This year Linda will be joined by TTouch Instructors Robyn Hood, Mandy Pretty and Sarah Fisher. The TTouch method of working with horses that will be taught during this week includes hands-on TTouch body work, ground exercises that encourage positive learning patterns, and the Joy of Riding. Every aspect of the Tellington TTouch Training is done with respect for the horse, acknowledgement of the horse's innate intelligence, and without fear, pain or anxiety.

During this week-long training participants take 3- or 4-year-old horses with basic leading skills and guide them through the steps of being ridden under saddle, safely and quietly. Students learn TTouch leading exercises, basic body work, familiarizing horses with plastic, neck line and ground driving, as well as preparing a horse to accept weight and a rider without explosions, fear or anxiety.

"This is more than just starting horses," explains Linda. "People come away with accelerated horsemanship skills and the ability to work with a variety of horses. This training isn't just for the professional, either - we've even had very novice people come to this training and succeed at levels beyond their wildest dreams! Groups work together in a safe environment of cooperation and learning - there's no stress of competition or feeling of failure. We also work with older horses who need some retraining or rehabilitation, so there's a variety of horses to work with. And we'll trail ride on experienced ranch horses and explore this incredibly beautiful country!"

New Mexico, Virginia, California and Texas

Starting a Young HorseHere are four other opportunities to study with Linda Tellington-Jones -- June 9-13 in Middleburg, Virginia; June 30 - July 4 in enchanting Santa Fe, New Mexico; November 5-10 in Los Alamos, California (just north of Santa Barbara); and November 13-17 in Texas (location to be determined). Imagine! The equestrian experience of a lifetime with Linda Tellington-Jones -- and the locations are fabulous! Culturally-rich Santa Fe (the shopping is beyond compare), the gorgeous hunt country of Virginia, a skip away from Santa Barbara and the Pacific Ocean, and the big boldness of Texas. Be sure to spend some time in these wonderful places before or after the trainings. Make it a family vacation!

Participants in these trainings will come away with a new perception of horses and how to develop a partnership with them. TTouch results for horses include a deepening of trust between the human and the horse, and improving the horse's coordination, athletic ability and focus while the horse's handler/rider learns more about becoming safe, confident and skilled. "We may even do a few fun demonstrations of riding without a bridle," smiles Linda.

Regardless of your discipline, preferred breed or level of experience, you will learn tools and techniques that can foster the magical partnership between you and your horse that most people strive for a lifetime to achieve.

The course includes:

  • TTouches for improved mental focus, physical awareness, release of tension and anxiety
  • TTouches for superior performance
  • Ground exercises (including the labyrinth for higher learning) that help develop concentration and balance
  • Learning an approach to training horses that is based on cooperation rather than domination, and on understanding rather than control
  • How to reduce fear in horses, thereby increasing potential for learning
  • Safe, simple, easy-to-learn training techniques
  • Under saddle exercises that are safe and fun
  • The 'Joy of Riding!' including the possibility of riding bridleless
  • Evaluation of your horse's personality (bring photos!)
  • How to enhance your horse's good behaviors and help correct any behavior challenges by using what you'll learn in this training
