The Whiskey Mountain area, just outside Dubois, hosts the largest Bighorn sheep herd in North America. Some days you can view these sheep as they graze on open slopes. The National Bighorn Sheep Interpretive Center pays tribute to the these impressive animals. It features an outstanding exhibition at the Center with hands-on displays as "What does a Bighorn see?", "Bighorn Body Language" and "How would you manage a herd?" just to mention a few.
Guided tours to the bighorns winter range are offered by reservation 24 hours in advance
