FISHING The Dubois area boasts some of the finest trout fishing in Wyoming, if not in the United States. Mountain lakes and streams are numerous and surrounded by spectacular scenery, so if you don't see a fish (very unlikely), just look around at the mountains, hills and alpine slopes. Numerous public access areas are maintained by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and most BLM and Forest Service land is open to public fishing.

Of special interest to anglers is the Dubois Fish Hatchery, located south of Highway 27/287, five miles east of town. Two springs on the Jakey's Fork provide the facility with more than a million gallons of water daily. Of the nearly seven millions eggs handled annually, about 60 % are Rainbows.
