Camping and Hiking
There are endless opportunities to hike and camp around the Dubois area. Camping options range from full service commercial campgrounds, developed campsites and primitive areas with no facilities. A good place to start for both hiking and camping information would be the U.S. Forest Service and Wind River Gear located at 19 N. First St ( 307-455-3468) and Whiskey Mountain Tackle at 1428 Warm Springs Dr. ( 307-455-2587).
And if you don't want to pack everything on your back, try horses, goats or llamas. The Dubois area has several Outfitters and Trail Guides who will take you or just your gear into the Wilderness areas.
All of the areas surrounding Dubois contain both black and grizzly bears. When camping or hiking, certain precautions must be taken.
